Politics

I simply have no more tolerance for politics. I will vote when I have the legal right and privilege to do so. But I can no longer follow nor engage in the cesspool local, state and federal politics has become. It is an affront to my concept of decency, a mockery of human intellect and the biggest and worst reality show in the history of humankind. Count me out…except for my vote.
The good citizens of The United States of America deserve so much better on all levels. First, why do we have to vote for one of two candidates that are both terribly distasteful to our sense of excellence? Second, why does the media find it necessary to uncover any and every speck of impropriety in the lives of every candidate? Third, why have we become so complacent about trash talk between the parties? Fourth, when and how did our two primary parties lose any and every sense of decency and decorum? Fifth, why is there not one politician with the courage to step up and tell the truth about debt, monetary policy, immigration, taxation and all other manner of difficult issues without getting creamed by his/her colleagues (on both sides of the aisle), constituents or the media? Six, why does the so-called media circus continue in which Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Rachel Madddow, Chris Matthews, Fareed Zakarias, MSNBC, FOX, CNN and other slanted “news organizations” have a death grip on the delivery of “news.” (This is not news; this is political commentary, in MHO). Seven, why does disagreeing with policy mark an individual as a leftist, bigot, racist, homophobe, atheist, Christian, extremist, etc.? Eight, what ill-conceived tax policy or budget is going to get our beloved country out of the debt we are in and why do those we have elected keep raising the debt ceiling while we sit idly by and tank our country and our children? Nine, no president, senator or congressman—regardless of party or philosophy--will be able to contain the anger that will rise up from the citizens of this once-great-country. Ten, I will vote…and pray. “He’s got the whole world in His hands.”
